I am a fiscally conservative Democrat running to represent Florida’s 5th congressional district. Born in snowy Buffalo, NY, for most of my childhood, I was raised by a strong single mother.
In 2003, I moved to Florida with my family and became an active member of my community. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Charlie and Katrina, I organized two statewide food drives which netted over 20 tons of food and $10,000 for community food pantries. I believe that people can make a positive difference in their community by getting involved in local issues.
I am a proud veteran. I served six years active duty with the U.S. Army, and worked several years with the prestigious 101st Airborne Division. During that time, I earned several awards and medals, including the Army Achievement Medal I received “for meritorious achievement in support of the contingency mission resulting from the September 11th attacks.”
As a congressional candidate, I will bring a strong voice to Washington to help out-of-work families fighting to put food on the table. For seniors struggling to pay for treatments Medicare won’t cover, I have a plan to bridge the gap. To my fellow veterans, I am duty-bound to never let you down.
I am a small business consultant by trade. I’ve developed business plans, budgets and marketing plans for businesses of all sizes. As your Congressman, I will use my expertise in generating successful business strategies to create jobs for Florida’s 5th Congressional District.
I am a father, veteran, small business consultant who is committed to bring common-sense back to Congress.
Thank You,
Jim Piccillo
